it won't be all as amazing as that I'm afraid. But it's definitely sounds like a great start! I'd definitely learn all you can, make your self invaluable, and who knows, you could end up taking over the shop.

Nah, Monday-Wednesday-Fridays permanently.
They do 24/7 assistance but I'm in no position to be valuable to be on call. Maybe eventually though. |

More of the same thing yesterday. Re-keying locks.
Learned how to master key, or at least learned some of it. Really interesting process. I figured it was just trial and error between the master key and any of the regular keys but it's very mathematical. They have actual formulas to determine master keys as well as regular and control keys. I spent most of the day doing that and the rest reading from a locksmith manual they had. Owner let me borrow it and I am currently in the process of scanning it. Made a lot of keys yesterday. Picked my first disc tumbler lock out of boredom and a few more pin tumblers. Also, I'm interested in entering DefCon's lock picking competition next year. Figure it's a good chance to judge my skills in about a years time as well as enjoy Las Vegas. |
