I had a basic understanding of gears but you're still helping me. Im not too sure where I can find a washing machine motor. The scrap yards around here are basiclly just scrap sheet metal and cars. I can get audio/turn table belts from my local electronics store -> http://www.dse.co.nz/cgi-bin/dse.sto...uct/View/H6018
They also have lots of electronic motors that could run off my 9.6v (I think) battery pack. http://www.dse.co.nz/cgi-bin/dse.fil...ogs/CTG0000273 |

Motors in second link are far to small and weak. You definitely want one that runs of the mains.
Last link: Would probably work well with some customization. But that's very large scale. You'd need well more than 50 of those 1/2oz sinkers. More in the hundreds considering the weight that that motor could turn. Did you not hear tell of my marvelous idea of using a kitchen mixers motor? Perfect gearing etc.. No work needs to be done except mounting it. Speed control build in... Just one of these yokes: http://g-ec2.images-amazon.com/image...GL._AA280_.jpg Edit: Say just looked at your vid. That had better not be granulated. Otherwise I'd weep.... Definitely needs further refining... Ball-mill for you matey. I'll get a vid of some of my Granulated bp burning for you to show you expected results from milling...

Ok so I will need;
- Mixer - PVC End caps ( I Have the pipe) - Wood (easy to get for free) - Sinkers (on their way) - That 10pack of Audio Belts - gears? - Something for roller - Small wheels (to balance pipe?) Anything else? |

Indeed. I'm sure Hunter was saying there was a sale in our local supermarket. Cost under a tenner. Just uploading a video now. Uploaded to a0tu too, but it needs to be reviewed.
Edit: Ah new post!! ehm, well if you're going to use that mixer, the gearbox is inside it. so cross off gears and 10 pack of audio belts. Yes to small wheels. You know the swivelling type found on the bottom of portable filing cabinets etc. If you can find some sort of appropriate container twud probably be better, although i'm sure a pipe and end-caps will work fine. Ehm.. Also depends on how big you container is.. Like my Current container will hold about 200gms and contains about 100 lead balls (1oz each). It could probably take twice that. But three times might be pushing it... Ill get you a pick of my dirty ballmill now. Twas thrown together in a matter of minutes and at first it leaked :O So everything's kind of stained black.. <-Not good as this isn't a sparkless motor...
