I know losalt is common table salt with 60% KCl instead of pute NaCl. But I'm interested in how you would make KNO3 with it.

Classic NK is what you want...I think...losalt is a dietry/substitute salt....
To make KNO3:
KCl+NH4NO3------->KNO3+NH4Cl
That mightnt be balanced properly...but Im too tired to figure it out properly...This is a more awkward method of doing it because KNO3 andNH4Cl are both water soluble salts, so you would need to find the solubility of each one, and then seperate it.... Its easy with the KOH+NH4NO3 method because the NH3 is given off as a gas, leaving you with KNO3+H2O...which is extremely easy to seperate..

also i enquired to www.nad.ie, they will deliver kno3 but theres a problem, you need to get a licence from your local garda station, soooo im going get a friend whos over 18 to ask about getting a licence.

We are talking in bulk...as in, 25kg bags... not 500g which is the norm from online sources.

I've found Dietry salt in a local Co-Op 80-90% conc. of KCl.

Ya its balanced.. NH4 ion has a +1 charge..
