The things I mentioned do the same thing, however Kerosene is almost nonexistent where I live. The edetate polyamino acid (I think) for some reason makes the acetone more viscous for some reason.. I have no clue why this is, seeing as how the edetate polyamino acid only makes up about 0.01% of the lens fluid. Maybe this is due to soemthing else, though. I shall test and find out!

I hear that a gasoline/petrol mix is very good.

As far as fuels go, I don't have much to say other than reiterating what others have said before me - "I've heard that a petrol/oil mix with added polystyrene works well"

But I have been told that, in terms of safety and efficiency, a tampon in the neck of the bottle is far more effective than a rag due to its properties of high absorbency and the fact that it swells in contact with most liquids. This means that it will most definately plug the opening and will absorb enough fuel in the process of doing so to provide a decent torch.

Of course such theories will need to be tested through experimentation that I have not yet done, and as such I cannot personally vouch for their validity.

Oh I'm a modern minded person, there's no problem with getting the tamps. I just have nowhere to launch one of those badboys without accidentaly incinerating a six year old or an OAP.

"For.....What?"

"Well I figure I'll stick one in the neck of a bottle, fill up the bottle with some petrol, then lob thine bottle into a passing ve-hicle".

"What???"

"I'm.... on my period..."


Seriously though... the tampon sound like a good idea.
