:HELLO: ahahahadgaga... i need help to make acetone peroxide... i have try many many times but nothing happend. so can somebody tell me how much i have to use 3% hydrogen peroxide,acetone and hydrogen acid.
i have

200ml 3% hydrogen peroxide
500ml acetone
300ml 11% hydrogen acid

When I 1st saw an AP topic I was a little disgruntled, but honestly there aren't many here so I'll help you.

The first thing I'm going to ask, is where did you get hydrogen acid? Personally I've never even heard of hydrogen acid, but assuming it's real I have no idea on how much to use, I would suggest something else. Anyways, if someone wants to point me to some info on hydrogen acid that'd be appreciated, I'm here to learn :P.

Secondly, more peroxide and less acetone, you're using a very low concentration H202 and your ratios need to reflect it. Not only that but an excess in acetone can result in larger crystals which means less stability, this puts you in danger.

I would suggest using muriatic acid (31-40% HCl) gotten from a pool supply or hardware store, as it carries an extremely cheap price per gallon. Sulfuric acid isn't worth obtaining for AP honestly..

The ingrediants you need are
1 H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) 3% will work but more concentrated the better
2 Acetone
3 Hydrchloric acid 30% is good.
first add the acetone to the H2O2 and put them in the fridge to chill. now prepare youself an icebath, when the mix in the fridge is nice and cold take it out put it in the ice bath and add the acid very slowly, make sure the temp does not go above 10 degrees celcius while adding the acid, after all acid has been added put it back in the fridge and wait, with 3% it will take about 24hours to precipitate,if you get stronger H2O2 it will work faster,(I have 50% H2O2 it takes like 2 hours to finish precipitating. I will give you my recipe since I have been asking so many questions, this is my chance to give something back, but you should have been able to find this info by yourself, and also you will have to adjust amounts according to you're H2O2 strength, as I said mine is 50%
56ml of 50% H2O2
73ml Acetone
in the presence of acid (about 10% of the total volume 12ml in this case)
will yield about 70 grams of AP, way to much for a beginer.
For f**** sake be carefull do some more research man cause this stuff can kill you.
I just found a synth for 3%
1 500ml of 3% H2O2
2 300ml of Acetone
3 250ml of 30% hydrchloric acid
Use the same procedure as I stated above adding the acid slowly and still watch that the temp does not rise above 10 degrees celcius, the big difference is that with the 3% method after all the acid is added you put it in the fridge for 1 week, compared to a few hours with 50% H2O2. I have never tied a 3% synth but it's from a reliable source, I wrote it down ages ago.

PPS I forgot to add that after the mixture has precipitated you must was the crystals, I wash mine in about 250ml of plain water,(using a 3ml syringe,3ml at a time) and then about 250ml of NaHCO3 (sodium bi carbonate) solution, I put 3 teaspoons in 250ml, then you can lay out your crystals to dry.

lol. Just read this thread for the first time and had already typed that into the quick-reply. All acids are hydrogen acids :S

3% sucks and the synth will be really slow long and boring. It is discussed in the other AP thread how to concentrate H2O2, I would really recommend you doing such as you'll get better yields and a shorter reaction time.
And yes your synth was messed up alright. WAAAaay to little H2O2.
