Filtering data being inserted into a SQL database..

Ok, I want to see what ye all use when filtering out the bad bits from things to be inserted into a SQL table with PHP.. Here's what I use! I just use the mysql_real_escape_string() to help secure against injection, and use the stripslashes() function when extracting the data..

What do you use?
