Hacking..?

A "hacker" does not just break into computer systems/networks. That would technically be a cracker. Hackers are people that are into computer systems, and other electronic technologies. Like others have said hacking describes a special mindset and ability to create, and manipulate hardware and software. There are also terms such as "script kiddies" which generally describes 95% of the so-called "hackers". "Script kiddies" take scripts and exploits created by others and use them to hack/crack their way into a system. This does not make one a hacker or a cracker.

I am acutely aware of that difference, however a hacker has a greater toolset scope than a cracker. Essentially the hacker works on both ends whereas the cracker only works on one..if that makes sense.

Anyways I never used the term hacker, I used the term hacking, which in fact does apply solely to the action of cracking a system. Hacking does not describe a mindset, hacker does.

This difference has been pointed out so many times that it actually angers me when someone decides to do so..
We know man, we know.
