Ah So is it like some idiot pranking you? Or just not saying anything, or like a company trying to sell you something??
I'm gonna guess TPS stands for some number tracing device?, As that's also what I'd recommend. We had the same problem a while ago with receiving a 'private number' that was silent for a few seconds, then you heard a click.. Then silence again until you hung up. It rang throughout all hours of the night. I don't know the full story of what happened when we got that tracing box, but it hasn't rang in months anyway.

Ah, so slightly different..... Anyone have one of those boxes I'm on about? Lets you see all private numbers?

Well...being a programmer, I know it could be an easily programmed bot to call a number multiple times, accurately and with a restricted number prefix (here it's: *67). So this would be my first conclusion as I have noted down behaviors that the sending side is giving off. First, the call ends directly at 5:00 seconds. When I talk, I hear a depleted and distorted version of my voice and what I say, on the receiving end which gives me feeling a may not be a bot. The last is that the sending end doesn't say anything. It's just simply a restricted call that lasts 5 seconds and no one talks.

Ultimately, to fix this issue I would like to learn how to crack through restricted calls and find a number (if possible) or block them indefinitely.

I'm open to all other solutions and ideas!

Thank you A0tu!

P.S - Nme: Will the box work for my cellular phone? From what I hear, they work for landlines. If the box works for mobile phones and gives a number - I would love to get one! I would harass the sh*t out of the people that are doing this to me. Heh.

Cobra you could divert your number to your landline, That way you could use the box....
The only way I know of getting this info is using social engineering and even then the methods I have heard of seem a bit iffy!

Thanks!

I'm not sure but on my old service a cop contacted me once on a number that was restricted or unknown, I don't remember how long ago this was, but I think it was because I had threatened to take action against a security guard if he wouldn't stop stalking and harassing me. (In the subdivision I lived in, he'd keep on tailing me in his minivan, and stay outside my house until I went in.)
I told him if he kept doing this I'd kick his ass.
