Turn Aero off.
Oh, and the other resources that are eating up your memory/clocks that you are bitching about. Like I said, Control Panel and Settings are there for a reason. Last edited by Beyond; 21-01-2008 at 03:36 AM. |

But why would I want an operating system I have to spend that much time configuring when I could just go with out of the box beastXP.

Because you want DX10.

Turning Aero off was the first thing I did. The sidebar was next to go. In fact, I went through all the processes to see what I could sacrafice for performance. Aero isn't going to need .4GHz, .5GB RAM, and an updated video card to run. On top of that, it's crashed three times in the last week. XP didn't crash the entire time I had it.

I've never bothered with sidebar, after all there are numerous mods for XP so you can get it, and I didn't bother with them, why should I need it in Vista?
