It's Aero coupled with a bunch of other features that are meant to last the next few years. It wrecks hell on resources now, in a few years, it'll barely be a glitch on the radar. Much like desktop wallpapers and icons are now.
Remember when graphic intensive wallpapers used to wreak hell on graphics cards and RAM?
