Problem is, Vista isn't 54 bit, and most software, read as all, is 32 bit.

Like I said, OS's have a 3-7 year grace period.
New software that's implemented based on existing hardware takes time and as I said, it's too risky of a gamble for either party to base their future products on one another.
It takes time and adoption for standards to move up, but it happens, trust me.
I run Vista perfectly fine, then again I have a workhorse of a machine that I constantly update to maintain near cutting edge specs. I also fucked around with many of the settings and registry. I optimize and customize my computer based on my needs, as do most enthusiasts. It's not hard either, their were tons of XP guides when I first started many moons ago and I'm positive there has to be nearly as many Vista guides.
