I have a sniper riffle and a assault riffle. They are both very accurate. If your looking for a sniper riffle I would choose a 270 because it has higher muzzle velocity than the 30-06. I have seen a 270 shoot through metal that my 30-06 wouldn't. If you like a assault riffle I prefer the ak47 over the ar15 because ar15 jam. They also make the ar15 or the ak47 in multiple calibers.

Alright. I hear that AKs are pretty inaccurate. Which is more accurate: The AR15 or AK-47?
