I'm going to find it hard to explain this but I'll give it a shot, keep in mind that I haven't actually made one yet so I don't know how it would go.

You start off with about 10-15 CD's, depending on how big your hand is really. Firstly get one CD to use as a template, Where the center circle is you have to cut a rectangle out so you can put your fingers in. Now for the edge that your going to use to hit people/things with, you could choose to do spikes or you could cut the edge off and make it just flat whatever you want, If you don't quite understand, tell me and I'll make a template and take a photo. I'll try and get round to making one this weekend, but I doubt I'll have time.

I've made one template before with edges like ////. Now basically you just use the one CD template and use it to make 10-15 more. Once their done, glue them all together and it would be pretty solid. Then you could probably sand the edges you've made to make them quite hurtful.

Comments, questions, queries?

So you insert your hand into it and have the spikes ontop of your knuckles?
From like 10-15 CD's

It sounds like an OK idea, but it wouldn't exactly be comfortable for you to use, you'd take some damage to your knuckles after a while. I suppose it'd get the job done and it's something different.
I'll have a think and a bit of a tinker with the idea of the design and i'll try and help you out a bit more with it, just to make it more user friendly

Good point, I forgot to add, put padding in the center hole. I was thinking foam, but I can see it getting broken easy, so I'm not sure what you could use as padding. Get back to me if you get any ideas.

im thinking a putty or a jelly of some sort, something that sets relatively well.
play around with a few things and yea. One thing that does spring to mind, we use it on cricket bats as a toe guard. A product called "Shoe Goo". It's a waterproof adhesive "goo". It sets relatively softly, and we sell it for $11 for a whole tube. There's one option.
I just see a goo or something as a better option that foam. Either that or some sort of material, but material would be a bad option as it is. Sweat and blood can get soaked into it, therefor getting dirty and all, bacteria "soaked" :P , so it saves allot of trouble with the replacement of the fabric etc.

I'll try and think of a few more things

padd it out with cotton wool and toilet roll, then tape it together with waterproof tape (duct tape? *the greatest invention after sliced bread*)
