This is crazy, yet another war for sky news to blabber about..

Heres an interesting fact:

There has never been as many wars in the world as there are now.

Think about that for a second.. you would presume that in this day of age we would be mature enough to solve things "politically" and all that..

The United Nations defines "major wars" as military conflicts inflicting 1,000 battlefield deaths per year. In 1965, there were 10 major wars under way. The new millennium began with much of the world consumed in armed conflict or cultivating an uncertain peace. As of mid-2005, there were eight Major Wars under way [down from 15 at the end of 2003], with as many as two dozen "lesser" conflicts ongoing with varrying degrees of intensity.

I counted 40+ wars going on around the world today.

sorry, but this should be in general discussion, I guess the section being called war stories is a bit misleading hehe. But its not for stories of war

There also has never been as many people living in the world as there are now.

War is so much easier these days with technology. Think back to the 18th and even 19th Century. War pretty much halted a nations production and was only used as a last resort. You had the major labor force going off to fight and production of anything vastly declined, specifically agriculture.

Now with modern technology and a diversified workforce, war is so much easier to conduct.

The U.S. has conducted two decently sized wars for almost 6 years now, without any sacrifices to the American way of life for most of it's citizens.
